Can't HEAR Steve? Steve FM is on a NEW SERVER

What does that mean to you? Better service when you re-start your stream. If there are any hangups getting to hear Steve.FM again, it should start to correct itself once you go to the main page of Steve.FM and hit the listen button. the server number is 7050 (if you see 7017 somewhere in the http: address, then you need to change it). 7050 is the new server or go to www.loudcity.net and do a search for www.Steve.FM

Sorry for the inconvenience but there should be less "down time" because this new server is super charged with Super Powers! At least, I'd like to think so.

Now Broadcasting in 128K

This means I'm giving Stereo a chance again on Steve.FM. I do this cautiously, because I know there are "rippers" out there who take up space just recording the music illegally. I'll try to keep an eye out for these nare-do-wells and keep the stream going in Stereo for listener's who listen to enjoy the music.

By the way, you can contribute your voice to the sound of Steve.FM....just like Eddie in Miami. Just record a "drop" on MP3 and email it to mail@steve.FM

You can adlib all you want but basically I'd like to get your voice saying something like "Hi, this is _________from (where your listening from, town, state, country) and you're listening to my favorite Internet station www.Steve.FM."

That's it....again, you can adlib around all this....don't make the MP3's too long....that's right we're all about the music at Steve.FM

Now get to work and pass the word around about www.Steve.FM (gotta emphasize to new people we are NOT a dot com). Some people insist on hunting for us and put that dot com on the end of the http address. Have a great day and I'll be checking email for your recordings!

Link listed in ODD TODD

Check out www.oddtodd.com ....this is an interesting site put together by a guy who's out of work. On the top left of the website click on daily scan. It will take you to a picture taken in Seattle. click on the word Seattle above the picture and there is a link to www.Steve.FM
Love to see this happen....it's probably only there for today....so by the time you read this, it may have changed to a different picture and city.

Welcome To Steve.FM

It's been way too long since I've written in this Blog. Life keeps getting in the way and time flies.
Steve.FM, as you know by now, is not a dot com Internet only radio station. NOT being a dot com station has probably limited the number of people finding and listening to Steve.
Life in Seattle is good (and expensive). The Northwest seems to be weathering the economic slowdown and it's still too expensive to buy a house here.
The music scene in Seattle is still thriving and we attempt to bring you the music of those bands as we become aware of them. Steve.FM also strives to stay current with the new music by American and International Musicians.
We appreciate any and all comments about Steve.FM. Be constructive in your criticism and realize that what you get is the personal taste of Steve, not necessarily the masses or what you might hear on a commercial radio station.
Hell, this is the Internet and just paying the light bill to keep Steve.FM going is a more a labor of love than a mission to make money.

I'll be checking back and updating you on what is on Steve's mind. Right now, thanks for stopping by, get the word out that Steve.FM is just that (www.steve.fm). There is no dot com associated with Steve.FM. We broadcast from Seattle, Washington and we have nothing to do with a station in South Carolina that is commercial and also broadcasts on the Internet.

Later!

Where are you?

Having an Internet Only Radio station has it's challenges.

What makes a person want to visit a site that streams music?
There are thousands of Internet music streamers to choose from! How does one get somebody, hell, anybody to listen?

For many to find a streaming station requires the time and patience to "search" for the sound that grabs you long enough to listen, then listen some more. Human's are an odd sort. We have the ability to move on to something else if we don't like what we are hearing or seeing at a particular moment.

Today, the amount of choices we have for anything we do or want to do is enourmous! From what we wear to what we hear, see and do, we have hundreds, if not thousands of alternatives.

Technology has made this world a literal global village. Because Steve.FM broadcasts from Seattle, Washington....in the United States, doesn't mean the listener's are only from Seattle or nearby.....Steve.FM has listener's on a regular basis from Europe, South America, Asia and of course, our great neighbor's to the north in Canada. Have I missed anyone?

So how does Steve.FM stand out from the crowd and build it's audience so more people can enjoy what we play? You tell us. Steve is not just my name....It really is a state of mind.

If you've made it this far into the Steve.FM website and actually enjoy listening to the music on the stream, tell me how to make this site and stream even better. Email me at mail@steve.fm

If Steve.FM is a place you like to visit on a regular basis and like the music the way it is, tell your friends.

I enjoy what I'm doing (It's therapy for me). I've been involved in playing music on terrestrial radio stations for decades. In those stations, I didn't really have a choice what music was played. Here, I do.

Hey, here in the United States we are embarking on yet another holiday weekend. Wherever you are, Steve.FM just hopes you're enjoying life. Enjoy the music and may there be peace in the world.
